SOUTHERN NCSY ANNOUNCES JOSH GELLER OF HOLLYWOOD AS NEW SOUTH FLORIDA DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

Southern NCSY today announces Josh Geller of Hollywood, a former NCSY alumnus and employee of International NCSY, will now serve as South Florida NCSY Director of Institutional Advancement. Mr. Geller will focus on reaching out to the thousands of alumni who populate the Southern NCSY Region from as far back as the 1950s and reconnecting them with NCSY and its mission.

NCSY is the international youth movement of the Orthodox Union.

Josh joins the Southern NCSY team following his work as an Alumni Connections Associate at the International NCSY office in New York City. In that capacity, he managed the alumni database for all youth and collegiate programs of the Orthodox Union. He was responsible for increasing alumni reach by creating social media campaigns to drive traffic to NCSY Alumni’s social media platforms.

Mr. Geller graduated from Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Prior to relocating to New York City, he lived in Parkland, FL and was an active NCSYer.

“We are on a mission now to double our impact within three years,” said Todd Cohn, executive director of Southern NCSY. “And we’ll only be able to do that if we ramp up our lay leadership support and involvement. Josh will do a terrific job at engaging our alumni in this mission.”

To achieve those ends, Mr. Geller will launch the Southern NCSY Alumni Association, working to identify and engage former NCSYers from the Southern Region, as well as those from around the country who currently reside in Florida.

Additionally, he will serve as an integral member of the Southern NCSY development department. Josh will work to identify and involve alumni in efforts to support NCSY’s teen engagement by utilizing the data he collects through the Southern NCSY Alumni Association.

“When I saw Josh’s resumé and connected the dots, I knew the tremendous value he’d add to our institution,” remarked Rabbi Ben Gonsher, regional director of Institutional Advancement for Southern NCSY. “As an NCSY alumnus, he understands our vision and will hit the ground running. And he has a charisma and creativity that make him a perfect fit for Southern NCSY.”

“I’m honored to be part of the Southern NCSY team,” Josh shared. “It’s a dream come true to return to the NCSY mission of connecting, inspiring and empowering the next generation of Jewish leaders.”
