In partnership with Hillel, the Orthodox Union Heshe and Harriet Seif Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus (OU-JLIC) is a program that helps Orthodox students navigate the college environment, and balance their Jewish commitments with their desire to engage the secular world. Now on over twenty campuses, OU-JLIC places Orthodox Rabbinic couples to serve as Torah educators within the Hillels on local college campuses. OU-JLIC provides avenues for spiritual development and exploration for Jewish students from varied backgrounds and presents a positive, sophisticated and welcoming face for Orthodox Judaism on campus.
Rabbi Ari and Shira Neuman, the OU-JLIC Maryland educators, declared, “We’re very excited to showcase our wonderful leadership at the OU-JLIC at the UMD Hillel and we are just as equality excited to have the wonderful opportunity of hosting Stephen Savitsky, who has shared with us his experience and knowledge as an important lay leader in the Jewish community.”
