MAYOR OF SDEROT, DAVID BUSKILA, TO SPEAK WITH NCSY TEENS IN SAN DIEGO, MARCH 11
More than forty NCSY teens will have the privilege to discuss what leadership means with the Mayor of Sderot, David Buskila, over dinner on Sunday, March 11. Mayor Buskila will address the challenges that come with being a Jewish leader during trying times. Following that, teens who have visited Sderot will have the opportunity to share their personal stories of what they experienced and felt while visiting Sderot.
NCSY | Jewish Youth Leadership is the international youth movement of the Orthodox Union.
The dinner will take place at Congregation Adat Yeshurun. During the dinner, the teens will present the mayor with a gift for their fellow teens in Sderot.
“This is the perfect way for teens to show their support to their brothers in Israel whom they frequently feel so distant from,” said Rabbi Steven Burg, International Director of NCSY. “They Mayor will be in San Diego for one weekend and this is the only teenage group that he will be addressing – a true testament of NCSY’s support and connection to Israel.
Rabbi Adam Simon, NCSY City Director of San Diego and La Jolla and Director of Technology Integration, said, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our teens. As always, it is my privilege to afford them with the chance to connect with their brothers and sisters in Israel and enrich their leadership opportunities.”
