RABBI STEVEN WEIL TO PRESENT OU WEEKEND AT YOUNG ISRAEL OF OAK PARK, JULY 12-13

Rabbi Steven Weil, executive vice president of the Orthodox Union, will visit the synagogue and its members where his career first began, when he presents an OU Weekend at the Young Israel of Oak Park (YIOP) from Friday, July 12-Saturday, July 13(Parshat Devarim).

Led by Rabbi Michael Cohen, the OU member synagogue is located at 15140 West Ten Mile Road.

Rabbi Weil will give the Shabbat morning drasha before Mussaf on “The Seventh Million.” After Kiddish, he will discuss “The Two Greatest Challenges Facing American Jewry In The 21st Century.”

Later that afternoon, Rabbi Weil will speak at a private residence on “The One Man Who Could Have Prevented The Churban.” Finally, Rabbi Weil will speak during a seudah shlishit at the synagogue on “What is the Meaning and Purpose of Eicha?”

“We are thrilled that Rabbi Weil will be back in Young Israel of Oak Park to deliver a series of lectures during Shabbat Chazon,” shared Rabbi Cohen. “Rabbi Weil is well loved by us all not only for the thought provoking shiurim that he delivers in a refreshingly clear and palatable way, but more so for the sincere friendship and relationships that he has build here in Oak Park over the years—first when he was the Rabbi of Young Israel of Oak Park, and later in the years that have followed. This lecture series has drawn interest both from people within our community and from people beyond our community.”
