OU’s Stephen J. Savitsky to be BIAV Scholar-in-Residence, June 2

OU BOARD CHAIRMAN TO VISIT CONGREGATION BIAV AS SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE THIS SHABBAT, JUNE 2

Stephen J. Savitsky, Chairman of the Board of the Orthodox Union, and a three-term OU Past President, will be Scholar-in-Residence at Congregation BIAV, 9900 Antioch Roadin Overland Park, Saturday, June 2, Parshat Naso.

Mr. Savitsky’s visit is the highlight of an OU Community Weekend presented by the Orthodox Union Karasick Department of Synagogue Services | Congregation Support Network.

Mr. Savitsky will attend a Friday night Oneg Shabbat at 9:30 p.m. at the home of OU Board Member Dr. Howard and Brenda Rosenthal, where he will be joined by the student members of the Yeshiva University Summer Experience program.

On Shabbat morning, following services, he will speak on the Mitzvah of Shilach Hakan: The Torah’s Secret Mitzvah that Ensures a Long and Meaningful Life. At 5:30 p.m., he will address a Town Hall Meeting on The Major Issues that Face the Jewish Family in the 21st Century.
