OU’S RABBI WEIL TO VISIT YESHIVAT YAVNEH IN LOS ANGELES AS SHABBAT HAGADOL SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE, MARCH 23

Rabbi Steven Weil, Orthodox Union executive vice president, will visit the Los Angeles Jewish community as he joins Yeshivat Yavneh as the Scholar-in-Residence for Shabbat HaGadol (the Shabbat preceding Passover), Saturday, March 23 (Shabbat Parshat Tzav).

The school is located at 5353 W. 3rd Street in Los Angeles.

There, he will be the guest of Rabbi Shlomo Einhorn, rabbi and dean of Yeshivat Yavneh. Before returning to his native LA community last spring, Rabbi Einhorn served as a consultant for the Orthodox Union—developing and managing the OU’s WINGS (We Inspire New Growth Synagogues) initiative for the OU Karasick Department of Synagogue Services.

Rabbi Weil will present the Shabbat morning sermon, discussing “Don’t Jew Me.” Rabbi Weil will also address “The Great Challenges Facing Jewry in 2013” at a special Lunch and Learn.

“Our community is very excited about Rabbi Weil coming to Yeshivat Yavneh. For years he defined education in Los Angeles and people won’t forget that,” Rabbi Einhorn noted.

To register for the Shabbat Lunch and Learn program, and for further information, contact the school at {encode=”mailto:info@yha.org” title=”info@yha.org”} or call 323.931.5808.
