OU’s Rabbi Weil to be Scholar-in-Residence in West Orange, 4/27-28

OU’S RABBI STEVEN WEIL TO SPEAK AT AHAWAS ACHIM B’NAI JACOB AND DAVID CONGREGATION IN WEST ORANGE, APRIL 27-28

Rabbi Steven Weil, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union, will visit Ahawas Achim B’nai Jacob and David Congregation (AABJD) as Scholar–in-Residence for Friday, April 27-Saturday, April 28, Shabbat Parshat Tazria-Metzora. The OU member synagogue is located at 700 Pleasant Valley Way West in West Orange.

During the Shabbat morning Kiddush, Rabbi Weil will discuss “The Two Greatest Challenges Facing Modern Orthodoxy in the 21st Century.” Before mincha, he will give a shiur addressing “How to Have an Honest and Open Rendezvous with the Almighty: Tefillah in the Eyes of the Rav.” Rabbi Weil will also speak during seudat shlishit on “The State of Israel: Did It Go the Way We Planned?”

According to Rabbi Eliezer Zwickler, Senior Rabbi of AABJD, “The OU plays a pivotal role in shaping Orthodox Jewish family life on a global setting.
