OU’S RABBI WEIL TO ADDRESS “BEWARE OF GREEKS BEARING GIFTS” AT TEANECK’S CONGREGATION BNAI JESHURUN, DECEMBER 29

Rabbi Steven Weil, Executive Vice President of the Orthodox Union, will speak at Teaneck’s Congregation Bnai Jeshurun, on Thursday, December 29 as part of the synagogue’s Beit Medrash Program Yarchei Kallah. Open to all members of the community, Rabbi Weil will speak at 8:00 p.m. at the OU member shul, located at 641 W Englewood Avenue.

Rabbi Weil will address “Beware Of Greeks Bearing Gifts: An Analysis Of The Fascinating Events That Generated The Fast Of Asarah B’Tevet.”

Asarah B’Tevet, which falls out this year on Thursday, January 5, is traditionally observed as a day of fasting, commemorating the initial Babylonian siege on Jerusalem, and leading to the ultimate destruction of the Holy Temple.

The event will be in the merit for a complete and quick recovery for Rachel Yehudis bat Mantscha Zisel, Yaakov Yitzchak ben Batia Sarah, and Chaim Yisocher ben Chaye Mushkut.
