The Orthodox Union’s National Jewish Council for Disabilities (NJCD) is celebrating the success of its twenty-first annual Family Shabbaton that attracted six hundred guests to Kutsher’s Country Club in Monticello, NY. The Shabbaton brought together Yachad and Our Way members, their parents and extended families from around the United States and Canada.
“There was an inspiring sense of ruach (spririt) inspiration, as people gave each other support and made friends,” declared Dr. Jeffrey Lichtman, National Director of NJCD.
“It was, as it has been for twenty years, a feel-good event. The air was electrified with a sense of unity, sharing, growth and mutual affinity. It is the pivotal event of a year full of outstanding, educational and inspiring programs for Yachad and Our Way members and their families,” declared Rabbi Mayer Waxman, Assistant National Director of NJCD.
