OU, YI of Oceanside, Present Family Focused Workshop, Feb 19

ORTHODOX UNION PRESENTS “FAMILY FOCUSED WORKSHOP” IN OCEANSIDE, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 7:45 P.M. ON “RELATING WITH OUR CHILDREN”

The Orthodox Union Department of Community Services | Jewish Community Programs will present its Third Annual “Family Focused Workshop” with the Young Israel of Oceanside, on Saturday evening, February 19 at 7:45 p.m. with free admission for all. The synagogue is located at 150 Waukena Avenue.

Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz will give the keynote address on “Building and Nurturing Relationships with Each of Our Children.” He is the founder and dean of Yeshiva Darchei Noam of Monsey; and founder and Director of Project Y.E.S. – a program designed to help build and strengthen healthy relationships between parents and children.

Yael Muskat, Psy.D., Rebbetzin of the synagogue and Associate Director at Yeshiva University’s Counseling Center, will give the opening remarks. Following the keynote, a selection of three 45-minute workshops will be presented:

• “What Your Children Learn From Your Marriage” with Rachel Pill, LMSW;

• “Communicating with Children During their Daily Years” with Alex Bailey, Psy.D.;

• “How Technology Impacts Family Values” with Rabbi Horowitz.

The program is sponsored by Adina and Norman Misher, in honor of their children and grandchildren; and Rochel and Yehuda Valladeres, in memory of Yehuda’s grandfather, Emmanuel Valladeres z”l, and Rochel’s mother, Sarah Spinoza z”l.
