OU WEST COAST REGION HONORS TRUSTEES AT ANNUAL EVENT
The Orthodox Union West Coast Region held its annual Trustees event at the Luxe Hotel-Rodeo Drive.
Over 50 key leaders in the Region participated in this annual program, “which enabled us to show our Hakores Hatov (gratitude for good works) to those leaders in the community whose support of the Orthodox Union is so vital and so significant,” declared Rabbi Alan Kalinsky, Director of the West Coast Region.
Greetings were brought on behalf of national OU by Rabbi Steven Burg, who returned to Los Angeles for that specific purpose. Now Managing Director of the OU, in charge of the organization’s programming, he was for years the Los Angeles-based director of West Coast NCSY.
Rebbetzin Yael Weil gave the D’var Torah. Following her message, a gift on behalf of the Region was presented to Rebbbetzin Weil and to her husband, Rabbi Steven Weil, OU Executive Vice President by West Coast President David Zeffren, for their new home; they will be moving to the New York area later this year.
According to Rabbi Kalinsky, “The event also enabled us to kick-off the Annual West Coast Banquet that will be taking place on June 22, at the Sephardic Temple. The Honorees for this year’s event – Seth and Ruth Berkowitz, Debbie and David Schultz, and Dr. Steve and Linda Tabak — were all present and were acknowledged for the leadership they have brought to their congregations and the community, and their support of the Orthodox Union.”
