OU West Coast President Leads 6/22 Webinar, “President’s Perspective on Boards”

OU TO PRESENT LEADERSHIP SEMINAR, “A PRESIDENT’S PERSPECTIVE ON WORKING EFFECTIVELY WITH BOARDS… A PRACTICAL VIEW FROM THE TRENCHES,” WITH WEST COAST PRESIDENT DR. STEVEN M. TABAK, JUNE 22

Building on the success of past synagogue-life webinars, the Orthodox Union Department of Community Services | Jewish Community Programs will present “A President’s Perspective on Working Effectively with Boards… A Practical View from the Trenches,” to provide continued guidance for synagogue leadership. OU West Coast Regional President Dr. Steven M. Tabak will lead the online PowerPoint Presentation, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. EST, followed by a question and answer session, on Wednesday, June 22.

Topics of discussion include characteristics of boards that work well; characteristics of boards that do not function well; recruitment and development of effective board members; defining common goals and promoting teamwork; setting SMART goals; examining the common pitfalls of working with boards; and developing an annual plan.

Dr. Tabak, an OU National Board member, also serves as Chairman of the Board at OU member Beth Jacob Congregation in Beverly Hills, where he is Past President. Dr. Tabak additionally serves as a Board Member for the Shalhevet School in Los Angeles.
