OU WELCOMES MALCOLM HOENLEIN OF THE CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS AS PART OF STAFF LEADERSHIP ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE
This week, the Orthodox Union welcomed Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, who gave a special presentation for OU staff. Mr. Hoenlein’s visit was the third in an OU initiative to give its staff the opportunity to engage and learn from some of predominant leaders of the Jewish world.
In an open and frank dialogue, Mr. Hoenlein spoke to a large audience about his mentors; how he became involved in the Jewish community; and the steps that led him to becoming the leader he is today.
“The Orthodox Union was honored and privileged to welcome Malcolm Hoenlein to our headquarters,” said Rabbi Steven Weil, OU executive vice president. “We had the unique opportunity to hear from one of the most important Jewish leaders in America, who is the Jewish community’s representative to the White House, foreign presidents, and prime ministers, as well as one of the world’s most respected and trusted dignitaries. He has played this role for 20 years and the relationships he has developed with leadership in tens of countries has been to the benefit of America, Israel, and world Jewry. Malcolm is a wonderful person, an extremely thoughtful Jew, and a sincere leader.”
