ORTHODOX UNION PRESENTS OBSESSION: RADICAL ISLAM’S WAR AGAINST THE WEST, FOR SINGLES OF ALL AGES, MARCH 15
The Orthodox Union Singles Connection and Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun will present Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West, a documentary on the nature of Radical Islam. The event is open to singles of all ages on Thursday, March 15, 7 p.m., at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun, 125 East 85th Street in Manhattan.
Obsession uses images from Arab TV, rarely seen in the West and reveals an ‘insider’s view’ of the hatred the Radicals are teaching; their incitement of global jihad; and their goal of world domination. With the help of experts, including first-hand accounts from a former PLO terrorist, a Nazi youth commander, and the daughter of a killed guerilla leader, the film shows, clearly, that the threat is real.
“The documentary sheds light on the threat Radical Islam presents in today’s society,” declared Frank Buchweitz, OU National Director of Community Services and Special Projects. “It is a relevant subject for the entire Jewish community. Singles will enjoy discussing this film and putting forth their own unique perspectives on the issue,” he said.
The film has received praise from Jews and non-Jews alike. Mary Matalin, Former Assistant to the President, Counselor to the Vice President and political strategist and commentator stated, “Obsession is superbly made documentary that should propel every American into action. For those people who don’t understand the threat posed by Radical Islam and especially for those people who do understand the threat — Obsession demonstrates in the clearest possible terms that we must stand up and defend our way of life. Obsession is a landmark film that impacts in a way that speech, books and editorials are just not breaking through to a nation in denial.”
