CONG. KETER TORAH IN TEANECK TO HOST EVENT IN HONOR OF THE MEGILLAH: MAJESTY & MYSTERY, BY RABBI NORMAN LAMM ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28; OU’S RABBI WEINREB TO BE FEATURED SPEAKER

OU Press | Jewish Educational Publications, together with RIETS/Yeshiva University Press, will celebrate the publication of The Megillah: Majesty & Mystery by Rabbi Norman Lamm, Chancellor and Rosh HaYeshiva, Yeshiva University, at Congregation Keter Torah in Teaneck, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. The synagogue is located at 600 Roemer Avenue.

Majesty & Mystery presents the entire Purim evening service and Megillat Esther, in Hebrew and English, with Rabbi Lamm’s masterful and eloquent commentaries, compiled and edited by Dr. Joel B. Wolowelsky. Copies of the book will be available for sale at a discounted price.

In addition to Rabbi Lamm, who will be present to sign copies of the book, Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Executive Vice President, Emeritus of the Orthodox Union will speak on “Hope in a Darkening Landscape — Strategies Suggested by the Purim Story.” There will also be a welcome by Rabbi Shalom Baum, Rav of Congregation Keter Torah, and remarks by Ari Lamm, in honor of his grandfather.

“With this event taking place more than a week before Purim,” said Rabbi Simon Posner, Executive Editor of OU Press, “those who purchase it will have the opportunity to read it and absorb it prior to the holiday. That way, given the insights they will acquire, they will experience a much more meaningful Megillat Esther.”
