OU PRESIDENT STEPHEN J. SAVITSKY TO VISIT BAL HARBOUR, SHABBAT WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 15, AS HE CONTINUES NORTH AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY TOUR
Resuming his cross-country visits to Orthodox Union communities, OU President Stephen J. Savitsky will visit Bal Harbour for Shabbat the weekend of October 15, Parshas Lech Lecha, to attend services at the Young Israel of Bal Harbour and The Shul, and to meet with their leadership and congregations.
Friday night, Mr. Savitsky will be speaking on “Challenges and Opportunities Confronting the Jewish People/Orthodox Jewish People in the Next Decade” at 7:30 p.m. at a special dinner hosted at the Young Israel of Bal Harbour. On Shabbat, he will speak on “The OU Vision: Looking Up and Counting the Stars” during morning services at 10:45 a.m. Mr. Savitsky will be speaking at The Shul during the seuda shlishit on “The Torah Secret Mitzvah to Living a Long and Meaningful Life.”
According to Mr. Savitsky, “Each trip is an opportunity to meet fellow Jews in an OU community and to understand their needs, the particular areas of concern they have, and how we can be of service to them.” In addition, Mr. Savitsky said, the trip will “expand upon the concept of Kol Yisroel Arevim Zeh Bah Zeh – the teaching that all Jews are responsible for one another.”
