OU ONLINE CLASSES IN JUDAISM TO FEATURE ‘EVERY QUESTION YOU HAVE EVER HAD, LIVE AND ONLINE,’ WITH RABBI MORDECHAI BECHER, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22

The Orthodox Union’s free program of online classes will continue on Sunday, November 22 at 9:00 p.m. EST as Rabbi Mordechai Becher presents, “Every Question You Have Ever Had, Live and Online.” The online classes, which have run since the beginning of September and focus on traditional and contemporary issues in Judaism, can be accessed at https://www.ou.org:443/community/.

The November 22 program was preceded on November 15 with “Making Prayers Personal and Meaningful,” with Rabbi Tzvi Gluckin.

Each hour-long class is fully interactive, in which participants may ask questions in a virtual classroom as participants interact with the rabbi. Questions can be emailed to the rabbi prior to or during the webcast at community@ou.org. The program takes place three times a month. Each webcast is archived for viewing at any time.

“This program will provide an opportunity for enhanced learning on topics and questions that are at the core of Jewish life. The online classes provide a question and answer format in a user-friendly way to encourage learning and personal Jewish growth,” declared Frank Buchweitz, Director of OU’s Department of Community Services and Special Projects.

“Participants can increase their knowledge and understanding of Jewish living and integrate the teachings into their lifestyle. We provide the lifeline to information that may not have previously been accessible to participants. We literally are providing a fountain of knowledge,” he said.

Future programs are as follows:

Sunday December 6: The Concept of “Keeping Kosher”

Sunday December 13: Chanukah: Why Giving Is the Best Gift

Sunday December 20: Understanding Sabbath Rituals (candle-lighting, Kiddush, Hamotzi, the Sabbath meal, etc.)
