So why indeed is this night different from all other nights? That, of course, is the prototypical question regarding Passover, but given the complexity of the holiday and its preparations and observance, there are countless other questions that even the most sophisticated and learned Jews might have.
In response, once again this year OU Kosher will present a “Question and Answer Webcast for All Your Passover Inquiries,” Tuesday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. on . As usual, the questions will be answered by the OU’s two halachic poskim (decisors), Rabbi Yisroel Belsky and Rabbi Hershel Schachter. Most recently, they were the experts on a January “Kashrut in the Workplace” webcast and a November “Kosher Home, Sweet Home Part II” program.
“The webcast, coming a bit more than two weeks before the holiday, will provide ample time for men and women to ask the questions they need to prepare for the holiday and to observe its eight days properly,” declared Rabbi Eliyahu Safran, Senior Rabbinic Coordinator and Vice President of Communications and Marketing at OU Kosher. “As with all other kashrut webcasts, it will be archived so that it can be referred to again and again.”
Rabbi Safran points out that the Rabbis Belsky and Schachter webcasts are part of OU Kosher’s continuing and ever-growing educational outreach to the community, which includes the “OU Kosher Coming to Schools and Communities” program; the highly informative and entertaining Kosher Tidbits postings on OU Radio; and the OU Kosher educational DVDs.
Prior to the program, email your questions to Rabbi Safran at safrane@ou.org. During the webcast, email them to Rabbi Eliyahu W. Ferrell at ferrelle@ou.org.
