OU Birthright IFS Opens Summer Registration for Arts & Entertainment Trip

14 Feb 2013

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR OU’S ISRAEL FREE SPIRIT TAGLIT-BIRTHRIGHT FREE TRIP TO ISRAEL IN AUGUST FOR ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT GROUP

Registration opens today, Wednesday, February 13, for the Orthodox Union’s Israel Free Spirit (IFS) Taglit-Birthright Israel free trip to Israel for IFS’s first program for participants interested in the arts and entertainment. The 10-day trip will take place in August, with the dates to be announced.

The arts and entertainment IFS experience is one of the niche trips that the Orthodox Union arranges to attract a wide variety of audiences with a multiplicity of interests. The two most recent IFS niche trips were directed towards those involved with the media, and those who wanted to bike their way through Israel.

Casey Tuma, the Broadway Rock of Ages and Annie star, will travel with the arts and entertainment group.

According to Scott Shulman, OU IFS program director, “artists” encompasses those interested in music, dance, acting, comedy, singing, theater and visual arts. Besides the usual IFS highlights, such as riding a camel, climbing Masada, and visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem, participants will experience how Israel offers its unique arts and culture to create a phenomenal and cutting edge social society.

“The Israel Free Spirit Arts and Entertainment trip promises to be an exceptional synthesis of up-and-coming Jewish artists experiencing their Jewish identity in a profound way,” Scott Shulman said. “Israel is justifiably celebrated as a country with many arts and entertainment achievements, and we are delighted to show them to participants first hand.”

Space is limited. To register, visit www.israelfreespirit.com. For further information, contact Michelle Kaplan at {encode=”mailto:michelle@israelfreespirit.com” title=”michelle@israelfreespirit.com”}, or 212-613-8130.
