OU Beautiful Child Campaign For Chanukah Opens Now!

25 Oct 2013

Do you believe in miracles? The OU does too. This Festival of Lights, what better way to kindle joy in a sick boy or girl’s heart than by giving them a toy for Chanukah? The Orthodox Union’s 17th Annual Chanukah Drive for Hospitalized Children will do just that in its Beautiful Child Campaign.

The annual toy drive is a collaboration of the OU’s Department of Community Engagement which works with several hospitals in the New York area to bring gifts to children who are patients. Chanukah begins very early this year, on the night of November 27th, Thanksgiving Eve. So hurry to get in your gifts!

“The impact of participating in this mitzvah reaches far beyond a gesture of charity,” shared Rabbi Judah Isaacs, OU Director of Community Engagement. “It truly lifts the children’s spirits and allows them to remain positive, even when they can’t be in their own homes.”

Hospitals include but are not limited to:

•Hackensack Hospital, NJ
•Holy Name Medical Center, NJ
•Englewood Hospital, NJ
•New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, NY
•New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, NY
•NYU Medical Center, NY
•Westchester Medical Center, NY
•Maimonides Medical Center, NY
•Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center, NY
•Beth Israel Hospital, NY
