AT THE OU AND JUF: GIVING A GIFT OF LOVE TO A HOSPITALIZED CHILD ON CHANUKAH

What better way to bring a smile to a sick child’s face than by giving the little boy or girl a gift this holiday season? The Orthodox Union’s 16th Annual Chanukah Drive for Hospitalized Children will do just that in its Beautiful Child Campaign.

Chanukah begins this year on Saturday night, December 8, and extends to nightfall of Sunday, December 16.

The Campaign is a collaboration of the OU’s Department of Community Services and the Jewish Union Foundation (JUF) which works with several hospitals in the New York area to bring gifts to children who are patients.

“Participating in this mitzvah will help remove the darkness of loneliness while illuminating the light of love and caring during Chanukah for a hospitalized child,” declared Frank Buchweitz, OU National Director of Community Services and Special Projects.

Participating hospitals include:

In New Jersey:

• Englewood Hospital

• Hackensack Hospital

• Holy Name Medical Center

In New York:

• Beth Israel Hospital

• Maimonides Medical Center

• Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center

• New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital

• New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center

• Langone NYU Medical Center

• Westchester Medical Center

Participants are urged to contribute $10 or more so that gifts may be purchased and distributed to children on Chanukah. Contributions may be made online, at www.oucommunity.org.
