OU ALUMNI CONNECTIONS TO SEND CANDY TO ALUMS AT JEWISH HOLIDAYS; UPDATED STUDENT CONTACT INFORMATION REQUESTED
“Life is like a box of chocolates, but with OU Alumni, you know what you’re gonna get.” (adapted from the movie “Forest Gump”).
Candy for Contact Info! is a new initiative from the Orthodox Union Department of Alumni Connections to keep in touch with current college students who are past participants in NCSY, JSU clubs and the Taglit Birthright Israel – OU Israel Free Spirit trips, thus maintaining their ties with the OU. To continue friendships following high school graduation and the trips, Alumni Connections is looking for dormitory addresses in order to send free treats on Jewish holidays — chocolate gelt for Chanukah and hamentachen for Purim.
The department is planning future initiatives to enable alumni to keep in touch with the OU.
In order to receive the festive candy, Alumni Connections needs current dorm and contact information! College students should submit their full names, current dorm address (dorm name, room number, city, state and zip code), email, phone number and birthday to OU Alumni Connections.
Various options are available to submit information, which will be kept confidential:
• Email email@example.com;
• Text all information to 347-688-9729 (goes to OU Alumni Connections voicebox);
• Fill-in information and mail back postcards that will be sent to home addresses around Thanksgiving;
• Check out OU Alumni Connections on Facebook.
Current college students are also encouraged to join the Dollar-A-Month club and receive an exclusive OU Membership discount for $12, which originally costs $54. Students will receive a year’s subscription to Jewish Action Magazine, an OU Pocket Calendar, and an Annual OU Membership Discount Card.
