The leadership of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America issued the following statement today:
On behalf of the Orthodox Union leadership and community, we express our profound grief at the murders of Eitam and Naama Henkin in Israel yesterday.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Chanan and Hila Armony, parents of Naama Henkin, and the entire Armony family, as well as to Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbanit Chana Henkin and the entire Henkin family. Yehuda and Chana are remarkable leaders in Israel and the global Orthodox community and we will all strive to support them and the Armony family in the face of this tragedy.
We support the efforts of Israel’s government to find the perpetrators of this latest act of terrorism and bring them to justice. May God have mercy on the Henkin children who suffer in this tragedy and avenge the innocent blood of their parents.
