OU Job Board Presents the Chicago Job Fair at Congregation KINS, March 6

28 Feb 2014

Following repeated successes in New York and also in Jerusalem, the Orthodox Union Job Board brings its Job Fair to Chicago on Thursday, March 6. The OU is presenting the Fair in partnership with the Jewish Community Council of West Rogers Park (JCCWRP), at which potential employers will have the opportunity to meet candidates. The Job Fair will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Congregation KINS, 2800 W North Shore Avenue.

Admission is free with pre-registration; walk-ins are welcome with a $20 admission fee at the door.

In the OU Job Board’s first venture to the Midwest, 25 employers and almost 300 job seekers have registered, with more than 60 available positions, including sales, business and administrative opportunities.

Says Michael Rosner, International Director of the OU Job Board, which presents the Job Fairs, “I had some trepidation about running a Job Fair in Chicago, not knowing what to expect. However, with the help of JCCWRP and with the commitment of its director Shalom Klein, we have put together an impressive list of employers and jobs to present. South Bend will also be there to highlight its community jobs and we think it will be a great success for them.”

The companies which will be represented include New York Life, AIPAC, Industrial Marketplace, Northwestern Mutual and Mary Kay, among others. There will also be non-profit community services represented, including We Care Senior Caregiver Services and Senior Helpers. Businesses to be represented are based in Chicago, Northfield, Skokie, Evanston, Deerfield, Northbrook and Glenview, in addition to South Bend.

OU Job Fairs traditionally have seen a number of candidates hired on the spot as well as others brought back for second interviews, many of whom are hired. Candidates are pre-screened for appropriate credentials for the positions listed by potential employers. Emphasis is on college-educated candidates who are unemployed, work part-time, or wish to advance to higher level positions.

NOTE: For free admission, employers and job seekers have separate registration forms on www.oujobs.org, click on the correct link. For more information, contact jobsco@ou.org or call 212-563-4000 and ask for the Job Board.
