NEW YORK NCSY HOLDS ITS FOURTH ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT, APRIL 18, AT LAWRENCE H.S.
The New York Region of NCSY, the Orthodox Union’s international youth program, will hold its Fourth Annual Community-Wide Basketball Tournament on Sunday April 18. Games will start off early in the morning at different gyms around the area, playing intense 5-on-5 full court basketball, coming together for lunch and the Sweet Sixteen at Lawrence High School starting at 12:00 pm.
The purpose of the tournament, says New York NCSY Regional Director Rabbi Aryeh Lightstone, is “to build awareness and community support,” for the work of NCSY. Funds raised by the tournament will be used to support the programs of New York NCSY.
This competitive basketball tournament is a highlight for many ballplayers. Teams from all over the Tri-State area come to play, with players required to be 16 years old and up. There is also a 30+ 3-on-3 half-court tournament going on simultaneously in Lawrence High School.
NCSY has made sponsorship opportunities available: $500 for family sponsorship, $1,000 for a Team Sponsorship; $3,600 Court Sponsorship; $10,000 Main Court Sponsorship. There will also be a sponsorship of Gatorade products to launch its new OU certification. A raffle will be drawn at the event featuring two round-trip tickets to Israel. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door.
The entire New York Community is invited to join NCSY from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at Lawrence High School, 2 Reilly Road, Cedarhurst, for children’s entertainment, arts and crafts, and a concession stand by Supersol of the Five Towns.
