Kingsway Jewish Center and OU Present First Annual Women’s Day of Learning, November 13 in Brooklyn

KINGSWAY JEWISH CENTER AND THE ORTHODOX UNION PRESENT FIRST ANNUAL WOMEN’S DAY OF LEARNING, NOVEMBER 13 IN BROOKLYN

The Kingsway Jewish Center of Brooklyn, in conjunction with the Orthodox Union Department of Community Services, announces the First Annual Yom Iyun L’Nashim-Women’s Day of Learning on Sunday, November 13 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Kingsway Catering Hall, 2902 Kings Highway. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Leading educators throughout the day include:

• Opening Remarks:
Rebbetzin Esther Tokayer;

• 10:00 a.m.:
Devorah Chasky, formerly of Midreshet Lindenbaum- “Adam 1 and Adam 2: The Theological Foundations of Our Faith”

• 11:00 a.m.:
Ivy Kalazan, Lecturer, Ateres Naava-“Physical and Spiritual Pleasures: Finding the Balance”

• 1:00 p.m.:
Rachel Friedman, Associate Dean, Drisha Institute-“The Role of Shema in Our Prayers”

• 2:00 p.m.:
Rabbi Menachem Leibtag, founder of the Tanach Study Center-“Our Siddur, and the Danger of ‘Idle Worshop’-How Chumash Explains How and Why We Daven”

Refreshments will be available all day and a light lunch will be served at noon.

The event (which includes all lectures, refreshments, handouts and lunch) for those who pre-register is $20 for Kingsway members and $35 for non-members. For walk-ins, the price is $25 for Kingsway members and $40 for non-members.
