Jerusalem Mayor and Dignitaries Visit OU Israel’s Zula Program for Teens

JERUSALEM MAYOR AND OTHER DIGNITARIES VISIT OU ISRAEL’S ZULA PROGRAM FOR TEENS; ‘THEY ALL LEFT EXTREMELY MOVED’

Chairman of the Knesset Reuven Rivlin, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, and Deputy Minister of Finance Yitzchak Cohen paid a recent visit to the OU Israel Pearl and Harold Jacobs Zula 0utreach Center in Jerusalem. The Zula, as it is known, provides Jewish programming for young men and women who otherwise would spend their times idling on the streets of Jerusalem.

According to Rabbi Avi Berman, Executive Director of OU Israel, “They all left extremely moved and inspired. Mayor Barkat, who had already visited The Zula in the past, explained to Chairman Rivlin and Minister Cohen the importance and necessity of the program and emphasized the extraordinary work The Zula staff does in saving thousands of Jewish teens 24 hours a day.
