ASK OU OUTREACH AND CONGREGATION SHAARAY TEFILA OF LAWRENCE, TO PRESENT KASHRUT PROGRAMS ON BIRDS AND FISH, DECEMBER 26 AND JANUARY 2 AT 9:45 A.M.
Harry H. Beren ASK OU Outreach is partnering with Congregation Shaaray Tefila of Lawrence and its Rav, Rabbi Dovid Weinberger, for two special kashrut events for men and women to be held on upcoming legal holidays.
On Monday, December 26 at 9:45 a.m., OU Rabbinic Coordinator and bird expert, Rabbi Chaim Loike, will present a live presentation, “The Mesorah of Kosher Birds.” A number of his fine, feathered friends will appear with him. Rabbi Loike presented on a similar topic last year at the White Shul. Then the focus was on partridge. This live presentation will focus on various species of doves and their suitability for being brought as a korban in the Beit HaMikdash.
On Monday, January 2, 2012, OU Rabbinic Coordinator and fish expert, Rabbi Chaim Goldberg, will present a live presentation on fish, also at 9:45 a.m. Rabbi Goldberg has just returned from Los Angeles, where he presented “Current Kashrut Issues of Fish,” at OU West Coast’s annual winter convention.
