An Our Way/NJCD Shabbat Celebration for Jewish Deaf in Chicago

Our Way/NJCD, an Orthodox Union program for the deaf and hearing impaired, together with Congregation Adas Yeshurun, recently celebrated a Shabbaton (Shabbat Experience) in Chicago.

The event was co-sponsored by the National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY) in Chicago.

Highlights of the weekend included Deaf Host Couple Karen and Yossi Alkoby of Chicago and Deaf Scholar-in-Residence Mordechai Weis of New York.
