OU Announces Advanced Kashrut Seminar For Women, 8/12-16

THIRD HARRY H. BEREN ASK OU ADVANCED KASHRUT SEMINAR FOR WOMEN TO BE HELD AUGUST 12 – 16

There is a world of difference between the kosher kitchen in one’s home and the kosher kitchen in a vast catering facility, such as at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel, but one tie binds them – the need to understand the laws of kosher to guarantee the highest level of kashrut in that kitchen.

With these two kitchens, as well as industrial plants and restaurants in mind, OU Kosher will present its third Advanced Kashrut Seminar for Women, Monday August 12-Friday, August 16 at OU headquarters in New York. The women’s seminar alternates with a men’s program held in even-numbered years. Both programs are under the direction of Rabbi Yosef Grossman, senior educational rabbinic coordinator of OU Kosher.

The program is sponsored by The Harry H. Beren Foundation of New Jersey. Registration is limited.

Rabbi Grossman remarked, “It gives the OU great pleasure to once again offer this Advanced Kashrut Seminar to women seeking a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of kashrut. We are proud to offer this program to women from around the world, in all walks of life, who are in search of an in-depth kashrut program.”

The program is open to women from all segments of the community, with the only requirement being the desire for an enhanced understanding of kosher law. Senior OU rabbis will provide the various sessions; field trips to the Sheraton, restaurants and plants will be an important part of the proceedings.

Past programs included participants from as far away as Western Canada, Israel and Australia, as well as from across the United States.
