This was one of the special “midot,” behavioral characteristics, introduced into the world by Avraham Avinu, as we see at the beginning of “Parshat Vayera.” There HaShem sends three angels in the guise of nomads to appear at the Tent of Avraham, where they receive a royal welcome from the Father of Our People .
