FAQ
Donors become Benefactor Circle members by donating $5,000 or more to any OU program or department cumulative in one fiscal year (July 1 – June 31).
A receipt for the full amount is issued via mail within 14 business days of payment. If your gift is made through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), the Orthodox Union will send an acknowledgment of the grant. Because the contribution is made through the DAF, the sponsoring fund provides the official tax documentation.
If you’ve reached the Benefactor Circle level of $5,000 for the first time, you will receive a welcome email asking how you would like to be recognized. Whether you prefer to be listed by name, jointly with a spouse, anonymously, or in another way, we will be happy to honor your preference.
Once we hear from you, we’ll update your recognition listing within 48 hours. If we don’t receive a response within 14 days, we’ll use the information we have on file. You can request a change to your listing at any time.
Donor listings in Jewish Action reflect gifts received approximately three months prior to publication. If you have requested a change to your recognition listing, updates will typically appear on our website within three business days, while updates in Jewish Action will appear in the next applicable issue.
