Mrs. Emma Katz is originally from Highland Park, NJ, and currently lives in Skokie, Illinois with her husband, Yossi, and two sons, Zevi and Shaya. Emma serves as the NILI (Women’s Initiative of the YU Torah Mitzion Kollel of Chicago) Community Scholar. Emma attended Yeshivah of Flatbush and then Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Judaic studies and education from Stern College for Women, and her master’s degree in Jewish education from Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration. Emma spent a year living in Bayit Vegan, Jerusalem on the Yeshiva University Gruss Kollel Campus. While there, she participated in the Bellows Eshkolot Tanach Educators Program at Matan Yerushalayim, learning both Tanach and new and innovative educational methodology from leading Jewish educators. Emma has taught in many formal and informal Jewish educational settings.
