Dr. Schwartz earned a Ph.D. in history of science from Princeton University, writing her dissertation about the cultural history of the Manhattan Project. She has spent twenty years in Orthodox high school education, the last fifteen in Modern Orthodox co-ed high schools, and has served as an adjunct professor of history at Yeshiva and Stern Colleges. She speaks and writes widely about issues of importance in the contemporary Orthodox community.
