OU Website Features Chanukah Lectures
The Orthodox Union is presenting five
Chanukah lectures on its website,
www.ou.org, for the entire eight days of
the holiday. Chanukah begins Friday night, December 19 and ends December
27. The lectures, given by distinguished rabbis, deal both with the laws
of Chanukah and the inspiring messages of the holiday.
All lectures, which can be downloaded, are available in an audio and
video format.
They include:
-
“Miracles, Strength, and Salvation,”
by Rabbi Ephraim Epstein of Cherry Hill, New Jersey;
-
“Hadlakat Nerot (lighting Chanukah candles): Where Should One
Light?”
by Rabbi Baruch Taub of Thornhill, Ontario;
-
“Chanukah: A Message for All Time,”
by Rabbi Gideon Shloush of New York;
-
“Chanukah: The Holiday of Enlightenment,”
by Rabbi Avraham Shmidman of Birmingham, Alabama;
-
“Spirituality of Fire: Kindling the Chanukah Lights,”
by Rabbi Kenneth Brander of Boca Raton, Florida.
Each lecture lasts 20-25 minutes. The series is sponsored in part by The
Jewish Press.
