New Web Site Feature Gives Times For Shabbat and Holidays
Going on vacation and want to know what
time Shabbat starts in your host city? Want to know what time a holiday
starts in the year 2322? The OUs new web feature can answer these
questions and more.
The new site, www.ou.org/zmanim/zmanim.htm,
is a searchable engine that enables you to find the times for sunrise,
sunset, candlelighting and havdala in any city that is entered. OU
Director of Synagogue Services Rabbi Moshe Krupka, explains, Anyone who
logs onto the site can insert a date and receive a listing of the official
Shabbat and holiday times for that area. We believe that this new addition
will serve as an essential resource to Jews throughout the world.
In recent months, the OU has made its
website, www.ou.org, more user-friendly by revamping two of its
most popular links, the NCSY and IPA pages, as well as adding a searchable
synagogue finder engine. The improved sites provide better graphics and
more advanced way to navigate information. The reconstruction makes the
abundance of programming, information and opportunities that the Orthodox
Union provides more visible and more easily accessed.
The Orthodox Union, now in its second
century of service to the Jewish community of America and beyond, is the
world leader in youth work, advocacy for persons with disabilities,
synagogue services, adult education and political action. Its kosher
supervision label, the , is
the worlds most recognized kosher symbol and can be found on over
250,000 products in 68 countries around the globe.
