Now is the Time
Orthodox Union Spearheads Solidarity Trip to Israel

We are taught from a young age that actions speak louder than words.  In the face of the current crisis in Israel these words resonate from every Orthodox synagogue in the United States.  Many feel that it is time to take a stand and actively show our support for Israel, not as bystanders but as participants in the struggle for our homeland.  To help facilitate this, the Orthodox Union is sponsoring a Solidarity Trip to Israel on Sunday January 21 - Monday, January 29.

All year long we praise Israel in our prayers, we celebrate Israel's Independence Day and we mourn for the fallen Israeli soldiers on Israel's Day of Remembrance.  We send our children to Israel for summer programs as part of their bar/bat mitzvah ceremonies and teach them Israel's national anthem from the time they are old enough to say the word hatikvah.

OU President Mandell I. Ganchrow, M.D., explains, "All year round we all carry a love for Israel in our hearts and in our prayers.  Now it is time to give voice to that love.  This Solidarity Trip will enable the Jewish communities of the United States to show the American government how important Israel is to us while also showing the Israeli people that we are behind them and will unconditionally support them."

For a low price of $1,070, the trip includes airfare and hotel stay at the Sheraton Jerusalem Plaza Hotel.  Meetings and top-level briefings will take place at the OU's new Seymour J. Abrams Israel Center.  Optional tour programs and guides are available at additional cost. There is a discount for synagogue delegations of 15 or more people.
