OU Releases New Transliterated Machzor for Rosh Hashana
The
synagogue service for Rosh Hashana is perhaps one of the most spiritually
challenging yet rewarding prayer services of the year.
Jews from diverse religious backgrounds flock to synagogues the
world over to petition God for a healthy and sweet New Year.
For some, the attempt to follow the liturgical Hebrew readings is
hindered by an inability to read Hebrew and/or a lack of understanding of
the ancient texts. For those
people who would like to feel more comfortable with the liturgy, the
Orthodox Union is releasing the Seif Edition of the Transliterated
Linear Rosh Hashana ArtScroll Machzor.
Each page of
the Machzor contains the Hebrew texts, a line-by-line English translation and
transliteration of the prayers, ArtScrolls commentary, clear
instructions and thought provoking essays.
The Machzor is selling for a special introductory price of $25.49.
The
prayer service on Rosh Hashana
can be a soul searching and uplifting experience, but can also be
challenging for people who are not adept at reading Hebrew or maneuvering
through the text. This new
Machzor will make it easier for anyone who has had difficulty reciting the
prayers with the congregation and will serve as a wonderful asset to
anyone seeking a comprehensive, easy-to-use guide throughout the
service, explained Rabbi Raphael B. Butler, executive vice president of
the Orthodox Union.
The Seif
Rosh Hashana Machzor is the fourth in the series
of Siddurs released by ArtScroll and the OU.
The Yom Kippur Machzor, the Sabbath and Festival Siddur, and the
weekday Siddur are also available.
For more
information, or to order the Rosh Hashana Machzor, call 212.613.8226 or

The
Orthodox Union, now in its second century of service to the Jewish
community of America and beyond, is the world leader in youth
work, advocacy for the disabled,
synagogue services, adult
education and political action.
Its kosher supervision
label, the
OU, is the worlds most recognized kosher symbol and can be found on
over 250,000 products in 68 countries around the globe.
