Orthodox Union Joins
Co-sponsors of Emergency Solidarity Mission to Israel
While tensions in Israel continue to
escalate and media bias continues to plague the news, the diaspora
Jewish community is uniting in solidarity and actively playing a role in
the future of the Jewish state. The Orthodox
Union, as one of the co-sponsors, is requesting that Jews throughout
the country join in a Solidarity Mission to Israel this coming week,
Sunday, October 29 through Thursday, November 2.
The group will join with other Jewish
organizations in an invigorated response of activism and support on
behalf of our Jewish homeland. The mission, coordinated by the Jewish
National Fund, and in association with the Conference of Presidents of
Major American Jewish Organizations and the United Jewish Communities,
will empower Jews around the globe to become stronger advocates for
Israel in our respective communities world-wide.
Jay Schottenstein, a leading Jewish
activist and philanthropist, will act as a Co-Chair of the solidarity
mission. Schottenstein, the vice-chairman of the Orthodox Union board of
governors, will join with OU President Mandell I. Ganchrow, M.D. and
other leading officials from around the country as representatives of
the OU. Dr. Ganchrow explained, The aim of the mission is to
revitalize latent and dormant support for Israel. The Orthodox Union
cannot remain silent as the well being of Israel is threatened both
physically in the streets and intellectually by the worlds wrongful
condemnation of Israel as responsible for the violence.
The all-inclusive cost of the mission is
$875, based on double-occupancy. Upgrades and other arrangements are
available. For details, please call 1-877-749-8444, or visit, www.ou.org/israel/5761/102400report.htm.
