MATZAH MATTERS:
Some Fascinating Facts For Foodies

Nearly 71 percent of American Jews attend or host a Passover Seder.
More than 40 percent of all kosher food sales occur the week prior to
Passover.

The Passover food market is constantly growing to meet the increasing
demands of kosher-conscious consumers. There are hundreds of “imitation”Passover products such as “breaded” fish and “noodles.”  The Orthodox Union (OU) certifies more than 80 percent of available Passover products.

Each Passover season, the OU publishes the Passover Directory. Serving as a shopping bible for over a quarter of a million Jewish families, the
Directory helps consumers navigate the Passover food market by listing
thousands of OU certified products ranging from baby food to cosmetics.
A free copy of the Directory is available at local supermarkets and
synagogues, or can be read, downloaded or printed directly from our website, www.ou.org.
