Orthodox Union Condemns Attack at
Kever Rachel
Orthodox Union President Mandell I.
Ganchrow, M.D., today issued the
following statement:
"The Orthodox Union is greatly
saddened and incensed by the brutal attack in Israel staged by
Palestinians at Kever Rachel. Kever Rachel has always been one of
Israel's holiest sights. For millennia, Jews have come to the grave of our
matriarch Rachel to raise their hearts in prayer, and to awaken her merit
in times of despair, for the community as well as for individuals.
Kever Rachel must not fall as Kever Yosef did. We call upon the
government of Israel to do everything in its power to protect this holy
site and enforce the stability and security of the Jewish state."
