Senator Frank Lautenberg
and Fredric Mack
Institute for Public Affairs
Honors New Jersey Residents
New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg and
Fredric Mack, Executive Director of the Mack-Heiferman Company, will
be the guests of honor at the Orthodox Unions Institute
for Public Affairs Dinner on Tuesday, September 19, at the Grand
Hyatt Hotel in New York City.
Frank Lautenberg has enjoyed remarkable
success as an innovative business leader, respected communal activist
and devoted United States Senator for nearly 20 years. The Institute
for Public Affairs particularly appreciates his life-long support for
the State of Israel and his historic efforts to bring a measure of
justice to families that have lost loved ones to terrorism.
Following his graduation from Columbia
University with a degree in economics, Senator Lautenberg and two
friends founded the countrys first payroll service company,
Automatic Data Processing (ADP), which today employs more than 30,000
people and has recorded more than 150 consecutive quarters of record
earnings and record sales.
Elected to the United State Senate in
1982, Senator Lautenberg quickly distinguished himself as a leader in
environmental affairs, transportation issues and foreign policy. His
experience as CEO of ADP imbued him with leadership qualities that
have been reflected in his outspoken positions on issues affecting
Israels security and dignity, including a major role in the efforts
to secure our governments recognition of Jerusalem as the undivided
capital of Israel.
Fredric Mack has been a vice president
and senior partner at Mack Construction Corp since 1975 and a partner
at Mack Industries, Mack Affiliates, and the Mack Company since 1975.
He is currently the Executive Director of the Mack-Heiferman Company,
and a member of the Board of Directors at Patriot American Investors
and AFA Protective Systems. Mr. Mack was graduated from Adelphi
University with a degree in History and Business Administration.
Mr. Mack serves as a member of the board of
directors at the Jewish Theological Seminary, a national board member
for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, chairman of the
board of directors of the Northeast Region of AIPAC, a member of the
board of directors of the Israel Policy Forum, a member of the board
of directors of the 92 nd
Street Y, and a member of the board of directors of the New York
Jewish Community Relations Council.
For over a decade, the Institute for
Public Affairs has sponsored an acclaimed Congressional summer
internship program that sends the best and the brightest of our
college students to Capitol Hill. Proceeds from this evening will help
endow, in perpetuity, a number of paid internship slots bearing
Senator Lautenbergs name for interns to serve in the offices of
senators and representatives from New Jersey.
The IPA is the non-partisan public
policy arm of the Orthodox Union, representing the concerns of
Orthodox Jews in the halls of government.
The
Orthodox Union, now in its second century of service to the Jewish
community of America and beyond, is the world leader in youth
work, advocacy for the
disabled, synagogue services,
adult education and political
action. Its kosher supervision
label, the OU, is the world's most recognized kosher symbol and
can be found on nearly 250,000 products in 68 countries around the
globe.
