Singles with Savoir Faire Celebrate Simchat
Torah
On the Upper West Side -- Courtesy of the Orthodox Union
The Upper West Side of Manhattan is the place to be for
Jewish singles
on Simchat Torah. And the Orthodox Union
is offering men and women
who are searching for that special someone, the chance to be part of
all the action. A pre-holiday dinner and music event, earlier in the
week, kicks off the celebration, which includes full gourmet meals and
luxury accommodations for the duration of the holiday.
On Tuesday, September 28, at 7:00 p.m. there will be a Simchat Beit
Ha'shoeva dinner with live music in the Village Crown Restaurant
Succah. There is a $15.00 restaurant minimum. Reservations must be
made by Monday, September 27.
Before the holiday begins, Friday night, October 1, out-of-towners
can check in to the Beacon Hotel (on West 74th Street and Broadway)
where one-bedroom suite accommodations are available for $275 per
night.
Both traditional and vegetarian meals will be offered
at two area
gourmet restaurants: Levana will offer Friday night dinner and
Shabbat afternoon lunch. Mendy's will offer all four holiday meals.
For more information and/or to make reservations, please call (212)
613-8300. Reservations can also be made online at

The Orthodox Union, celebrating 100 years of service to the Jewish
community of America and beyond, is the world leader in youth
work,

political action. Its kosher supervision label, the OU, is the world's
most recognized kosher symbol and can be found on over 200,000
