OU Beautiful Child Chanukah Program Illuminates the Lights of Love and Caring for Hospitalized Children

Imagine being a child in a hospital on Chanukah? For both parents and children, the loneliness of spending Chanukah in a hospital can be overwhelming. So, beginning Sunday, December 5th, the second day of Chanukah, and continuing throughout the entire holiday week, the Orthodox Union’s (OU) Young Leadership Division will distribute Chanukah gifts to children in hospitals throughout New York. The program will draw singles in their 20s and 30s from the metropolitan New York area.

"What better way to celebrate Chanukah, the festival marking our spiritual victory over foreign forces, than to engage in acts of generosity, charity and chesed, the very cornerstones of our tradition. This Chanukah, let our deeds as well as our menorahs illuminate the world," said Rabbi Raphael B. Butler, Executive Vice President of the OU.

Registration forms for the event – which must be received by December 1st – are available online at www.ou.org. For more information, please call (212) 613-8188.
