The sessions began in September 1997, with two Yemei Iyun (full day learning programs) related to the Yamim Noraim. The overwhelming attendance by hundreds of women clearly indicated a need and desire for ongoing advanced Torah study. In the fall of 1997, the weekly learning program began with 50 students. In the spring of 1998, the Roshei Yeshiva formalized a partnership with the Orthodox Union to expand and enhance the program. Additional courses were offered and enrollment further increased. Under the guidance of the Roshei Yeshiva, the program continues to evolve and meet the needs of today's Orthodox women.
