Yom HaAtzmaut

12 Feb 2014

The Independence Day of the State of Israel. The Hebrew date is 5 Iyar, and the original English date, which varies from year to year while the Hebrew date is fixed, was May 14, 1948. News of this event brought tears of joy to Jews world-wide, as Israel’s tiny armed forces organized and began to defend the State against invading Arab armies who vowed to crush it, G-d forbid.
