28 Oct 2013

Orthodox Union Chairman of the Board Stephen J. Savitsky will be speaking at the Kollel Shabbaton at Bnai Brith Jacob Congregation in Savannah from Friday, November 1-Saturday November 2 (Shabbat Parshat Toldot).

The synagogue is located at 5444 Abercorn Street.

On Friday night after Shabbat dinner Mr. Savitsky will be discussing “The Importance of Small Jewish Communities in the Continuity of Jewish Life.” He will also be present at the synagogue’s wine and cheese tasting event on Saturday night.

“We are very excited and with great anticipation we are waiting to hear words of wisdom from Mr. Savitsky, especially as our community is symbolic of the statistics that have befallen the Jewish people,” said Rabbi Avigdor Slatus of the Bnai Brith Jacob Congregation. “We are eagerly awaiting our opportunity to participate wholeheartedly with the OU in furthering the excellence of our efforts in maintaining a proper Orthodox community.”
