OU WEST COAST REGION PRESENTS ANNUAL SYNAGOGUE LEADERSHIP SEMINAR WITH RABBI SHLOMO EINHORN, MAY 15 IN LOS ANGELES; ROLE OF NEW TECHNOLOGY IN SYNAGOGUE GROWTH TO BE EMPHASIZED

Rabbinic and lay leaders across the Orthodox Union West Coast Region will be presented with opportunities to learn and share ideas about how to raise their shuls to the next level at the Orthodox Union’s West Coast Region’s Stern Family Annual Synagogue and Community Leadership Seminar to be presented on Sunday, May 15, at 5 p.m. at the OU West Coast Headquarters in Los Angeles, 9831 W. Pico Boulevard. Registration is mandatory, and a complementary dinner will be served.

The event is held in memory of Emanuel Stern, a”h, the former president of Congregation Beth Jacob of Beverly Hills and a longtime supporter of OU West Coast.

The seminar will be led by Los Angeles native Rabbi Shlomo Einhorn, who is now originator and director of the OU’s W.I.N.G.S. (We Inspire New Growth Synagogues) program, in addition to serving as rabbi of New York City’s rapidly-growing West Side Institutional Synagogue. W.I.N.G.S. provides consulting services around the country, presenting guidance and insights into synagogue programming and growth.

Rabbi Einhorn will facilitate the discussion, “A Watershed Moment in Shul History — Why the Time to Grow Our Synagogues is Now!” He will be defining the opportunities technology presents to benefit synagogues when they know how to properly use it. Issues addressed will include:

• Modern methods of activating your membership;

• RPO (Rapid Production Opportunities) Time Management Techniques;

• The five things you need to know about Social Media;

• Strategic planning tweaked for synagogues;

• Developing out-of- the-box programming.

Declared Rabbi Adir Posy, Assistant Director of Synagogue Services for the West Coast Region, “We are pleased to host Rabbi Shlomo Einhorn, who has earned a reputation across North America as an expert on the ins and outs of synagogue programming. One of the key challenges facing our member shuls is the need to constantly innovate both in terms of programming and operations. The OU prides itself on being ahead of the curve in supporting our shuls through the sharing of best practices and consulting services. A key part of our strategy is our Annual Synagogue Leadership Seminar that will take place on May 15th to bring together rabbis, presidents and any other members of shul leadership teams to share wisdom and learn from experts on the issues facing our synagogues.”
