Position Summary:
The Talent Development Fellow is an entry-level role designed to build real skills in people operations, professional development programming, and organizational infrastructure within a mission-driven national youth organization.
The fellow reports to the Director of Talent Development and works closely with national operations, regional leadership, and program staff. This role sits at the intersection of talent, learning, and events, offering hands-on exposure to how a high-functioning nonprofit finds, develops, and retains its people.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Talent Intake
- Respond to incoming resumes, applications, and inquiries for open NCSY staff positions
- Manage candidate records in Jobvite andmaintain accurate, up-to-date pipeline documentation
- Coordinate weekly prospect briefings for the Director of Talent Development, including preparation of summaries and status updates
- Support outreach and follow-up with prospective candidates at various stages of the hiring process
Professional Development Programming
- Assist in the design, coordination, and execution of NCSY’s professional development programs, including the Management Accelerator
- Support logistics and participant communications for NCSY StaffCon
- Maintain program documentation, session materials, and post-program summaries for internal learning records
Event Operations and Logistics
- Support planning and execution of national Talent Development training events, and staff-facing programs
- Manage pre-event coordination, including vendor communication, registration, logistics, room or platform setup, and documents
- Serve as an on-site point of contact during events, managing day-of coordination and troubleshooting
- Lead post-event wrap-up, including internal debriefs, data collection, and summary reports for leadership
Project Management and Coordination
- Oversee the “Welcome to NCSY”new staff connection program
- Maintain organized, accurate files across all Talent Development projects and programs
- Draft internal communications, program announcements, and stakeholder updates as needed
- Support the preparation of presentation materials, facilitator guides, and participant handouts for training programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple moving pieces at once
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and consistent follow-through
- Comfort learning and using digital tools for task tracking, documentation, and coordination
- Ability to receive feedback, adjust quickly and ask clarifying questions
- Alignment with NCSY’s mission and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
