Position Summary:
The Community Programs Fellow will support multiple community-focused initiatives, including the Community Fair, the SPIRIT Program for Retirees, and Living Smarter Jewish. This role offers hands-on experience in communal initiatives, program coordination, event support, and communications. The Fellow will work closely with community leaders, professionals, and participants while developing practical skills in leadership support, digital tools, and program operations.
Responsibilities:
Community Fair & Community Engagement
- Build positive and professional relationships with community leaders to support the growth of their communities
- Assist with leadership webinars, including creating and editing PowerPoint presentations
- Support outreach efforts by tracking community participation, managing accounts, and monitoring email responses
- Assist in drafting, proofreading, and finalizing the Community Guide manuscript
- Work directly with participating communities to support their presentations for the Fair
- Provide day-of-event support, including managing the virtual auditorium and troubleshooting as needed
- Learn and assist with backend website operations related to community management
SPIRIT Program for Retirees
- Assist with backend website work, including creating events and forms on the SPIRIT website
- Communicate professionally with presenters, including high-level medical doctors, psychotherapists, rabbis, and other experts
- Create and schedule email blasts to promote SPIRIT programs
- Support and host SPIRIT Zoom programs, including technical setup and participant assistance
- Research, identify, and help develop appropriate programming for the SPIRIT audience
- Facilitate and host SPIRIT breakout rooms for “Let’s Talk” discussion programming
Living Smarter Jewish
- Conduct intake calls with participants and assist with case management
- Support participants by tracking needs and connecting them with appropriate resources
- Gain foundational knowledge in financial literacy concepts relevant to the program
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfort working with diverse populations, including retirees, professionals, and community leaders
- Ability to organize information, track responses, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Zoom
- Interest in Jewish communal life, education, or social service programming
